Foraging connects exploration to crafting
The official description makes the relationship direct: find items while traveling the land, then use them for crafting in the den.[1] This gives exploration a resource layer in addition to quests, hunting and puzzles.
What items are actually named?
The foraging description does not list a complete set of materials. Trailmark names crafted den objects such as bedding and a scratching post, but not the ingredients required to make them. That means exact claims about moss, herbs, feathers or mushrooms should be withheld until they appear in footage or the game.
Foraging is not automatically herbalism
Warrior Cats fans may associate plant gathering with medicine cats. The game, however, currently frames foraging as a general crafting input. A medicine-cat herb system is not confirmed, so this page avoids labeling every gathered resource as an herb or healing item.

Until spawn behavior is tested, this page avoids promising that a particular biome contains a specific resource simply because that material would make sense in Warrior Cats lore.

Foraging is confirmed as an activity that supplies materials for den crafting. The available sources do not yet name every resource, season, spawn location or gathering tool. A useful future database should track resource name, territory, respawn behavior and recipes only after those details can be verified in-game.
