What a battle is confirmed to involve
The official feature description says players use timing and tactics to overcome rival warriors, predators and bosses, build a move set, exploit enemy weaknesses and unleash ancestor attacks.[1] That gives us several distinct systems: move choice, matchup knowledge, Clan identity and a high-impact StarClan layer.
Combat stances and move training
Trailmark separately says players can train powerful moves and experiment with combat stances while customizing their combat style.[1] The relationship between stances and turns is not explained yet. We do not know whether stances change stats, unlock moves, affect initiative or simply organize builds.
Enemies range from prey animals to rival cats
Steam and Xbox name mice, squirrels and badgers among the enemies and also refer to rival Clans and epic battles or bosses.[2][3] That unusual range means “enemy” is broader than hostile warriors alone. Hunting and combat may overlap in places, but official descriptions do not yet explain exactly when prey encounters use the battle system.

What is not safe to publish before launch
- Damage values or tier lists
- Best moves or best Clan builds
- Exact status effects and elemental-style weaknesses
- Turn order formulas, action points or cooldown rules
- Boss weaknesses not shown by official material
How this guide should evolve after release
The post-launch version should document every move with unlock conditions, costs, effects, targets and verified damage ranges. It should also separate story-friendly recommendations from optimized builds, because many players will arrive from the books rather than from turn-based RPGs.

Combat guide scope before launch
Turn-based encounters, move sets, enemy weaknesses, bosses and StarClan attacks are confirmed themes. Exact damage formulas, turn order, party size, difficulty settings and status effects are not yet public. This guide therefore focuses on the confirmed combat model and links to the specific systems that need future verification.
