Standard Edition vs Feral Edition

The edition choice for Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest is relatively straightforward once the similarly named bonuses are separated. The Standard Edition contains the base game. The Feral Edition contains that same game plus the Prophecy Pack, a cosmetic and photo-mode content pack. A third item, the Purrfect Look Pack, is advertised as a preorder bonus and should not be confused with the Feral Edition upgrade.

Current US PlayStation and Xbox storefronts list Standard at $29.99 and Feral at $39.99, a $10 difference. Prices can vary by country, currency, retailer and platform, so those figures should be treated as US storefront pricing rather than a universal worldwide price.

That makes the Feral Edition primarily a cosmetics-and-photo-mode decision, not a choice between a smaller game and a larger story campaign.

What is included in the Standard Edition?

Standard Edition is the full base game. Nothing in the official edition comparison suggests that Prophecy Mode, Defender Mode or Skirmish Mode is exclusive to Feral. The base-game feature list includes all three game types, the custom Warrior Cat creator, six iconic locations, turn-based battles supporting up to 3v3, 75 combat moves, hunting, online asynchronous features and procedurally generated characters, quests and stories.

The three game modes are worth emphasizing because the word “Prophecy” creates an easy point of confusion. Prophecy Mode is a base-game mode. Prophecy Pack is optional additional content. You do not need the Prophecy Pack merely to access the four original stories described under Prophecy Mode.

For most players interested primarily in story, combat and exploration, Standard therefore appears to contain the complete core gameplay experience described by the publisher.

What does the Feral Edition include?

The Feral Edition contains:

• Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest base game
• The Prophecy Pack

Nintendo’s official Feral Edition page gives the clearest itemized description of that pack. It lists 8 accessories for the cat creator, 12 wearable accessories, a cel-shaded character skin, 4 cat poses for photo mode, and 4 photo-mode effects.

Those are customization and presentation extras. The official list does not describe an additional Clan campaign, new Prophecy Mode storyline, exclusive combat class or separate playable territory as part of the Prophecy Pack.

That distinction matters when deciding whether the $10 US edition upgrade is worthwhile. Players who expect to spend a lot of time designing cats or taking screenshots have a clearer reason to consider Feral. Players who only want the RPG, battles and four Clan stories may find Standard sufficient.

Is the Feral Edition worth the extra $10?

Using current US PlayStation and Xbox prices, Feral costs $10 more than Standard. Nintendo US separately lists the Prophecy Pack at $14.99, which provides a useful value reference: on those current US prices, buying the $39.99 Feral bundle gives you the pack for a smaller effective premium than the Nintendo standalone pack price.

That does not automatically make Feral the right choice. Value depends on whether you actually want cosmetic content. If cat creation and photo mode are major parts of how you expect to play, the bundle is easier to justify. If you care almost entirely about quests, combat and story, the extras do not currently appear essential.

Regional prices and platform-specific offers can change, so check the storefront you intend to use before purchasing rather than assuming the US comparison applies everywhere.

What is the Prophecy Pack?

Despite its name, the Prophecy Pack is not Prophecy Mode and is not currently described as story DLC. Its announced contents are centered on appearance and photo mode.

The official Nintendo US listing currently identifies these contents:

• 8 cat-creator accessories
• 12 wearable accessories
• Cel-shaded character skin
• 4 photo-mode cat poses
• 4 photo-mode effects

Nintendo also lists the Prophecy Pack separately for $14.99 with an October 23, 2026 release date. This means players who start with Standard may have a standalone purchase route on at least that platform, although availability and pricing should be checked separately on each storefront.

What is the Purrfect Look Pack?

The Purrfect Look Pack is a different product from the Prophecy Pack. PlayStation advertises it as an exclusive preorder bonus containing additional elements for the cat creator. Nintendo says eligible purchases made by October 23, 2026 at 00:00 PDT receive the pack and describes four unique elements available through preorder.

Because storefront copy is not perfectly consistent in how it counts or describes the cosmetic elements, we are not using an unsupported universal item count beyond the wording published by each platform. The important buying distinction is stable: Prophecy Pack is bundled with Feral; Purrfect Look Pack is the preorder bonus.

Does Feral Edition include the preorder bonus?

Current Xbox edition comparison pages show the Purrfect Look Pack alongside both the Standard and Feral preorder offerings, while PlayStation advertises the preorder bonus on the game listing. Nintendo likewise advertises the bonus for qualifying purchases before its stated cutoff.

So Feral is not the only route to the Purrfect Look Pack. The bonus is tied to preorder eligibility rather than being the defining content of Feral Edition. Store rules can differ by region and retailer, so verify the bonus on the exact listing before paying.

Which edition should you buy?

Choose Standard Edition if your priority is the actual game: the four Clan stories in Prophecy Mode, Defender challenges, asynchronous Skirmish battles, exploration, hunting, quests and the core character creator. Based on the current official edition descriptions, those headline gameplay systems belong to the base game.

Choose Feral Edition if you already know you want extra customization and photo-mode options. At the current US PlayStation/Xbox pricing, the edition adds $10 and includes the Prophecy Pack.

Preorder either eligible edition only if the Purrfect Look Pack matters to you or you already intended to buy before launch. A cosmetic bonus alone is not a reason to rush a purchase if you would rather wait for reviews, performance reports or post-launch gameplay information.

What both editions share

Whichever edition you choose, the published base-game features include three game types: Prophecy Mode, Defender Mode and Skirmish Mode. The combat system supports up to 3v3 encounters and 75 unique moves. Players can create a custom Warrior Cat, explore six iconic locations and interact with nine cats from the books.

That is why our edition comparison treats Feral as an optional-content upgrade rather than a “complete gameplay edition.” Nothing currently published by the official storefronts indicates that Standard buyers lose one of the three modes or one of the four Clan storylines.
